At the heart of the Magis Center’s mission is helping people encounter the reality of God through faith and reason. That mission comes alive in The Real Presence: The Mass, a new short film in which our founder, Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., is featured. Offering his theological insight and pastoral wisdom, Fr. Spitzer helps guide viewers deeper into the mystery of the Eucharist, the “source and summit” of our Catholic faith. His contribution underscores the film’s goal: to draw minds and hearts into the truth of Christ’s real presence at every Mass.
A Short Film with a Big Mission
The Real Presence: The Mass is a short film with a big mission—to awaken hearts to the truth of the Eucharist and reveal what is really happening at every Catholic Mass. Though the bread and wine appear unchanged, Catholics believe that Christ becomes truly present in body, blood, soul, and divinity.
Through stunning liturgical footage, artistic augmented reality, and powerful interviews, the film presents a reverent and creative vision of the Mass. It shows angels gathering, saints praying, and the Holy Spirit descending—moments the Church teaches are truly occurring but remain veiled to our eyes.
The film is faith expressed through beauty. Featuring commentary from nationally recognized Catholic speakers and theologians, it offers clarity, depth, and warmth for both believers and the curious.
Freely Offered to the Church
Privately funded and produced by Barton Productions in Jacksonville, Florida, The Real Presence: The Mass was created over two years by a small, dedicated team. It is now freely offered to the public, to Catholic dioceses, parishes, schools, and OCIA programs.
