Friday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

The leper approaches Jesus knowing well the desires of his own heart, knowing his own helplessness before his condition, believing that Jesus could cure him yet respecting his will. “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”

“Not my will, but yours,” many will say in a prayer that acknowledges that we are in the hands of a God who can provide, who does provide, and who will provide—even when it may not be immediately as we may have desired.

Often, we hear the question, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”

Confident in the Lord that is ceaselessly at work and providing for his children, we may also ask, “Lord, what do you wish for me today?”

Divine Providence will not fail to provide an answer. May we respond with grateful hearts.
