Tuesday of the Twenty-first Week in Ordinary Time
In today’s gospel, Jesus admonishes the Pharisees for forgetting the weightier things of the law and instead insisting on details that are easily achieved. This admonition calls to mind one of the fundamental projects of our lives: making good decisions even though they may be difficult. Great men and women achieve the status of greatness not by indulging in the cosmetic or temporary but by a habitual action of choosing the good despite the cost.
