Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time
We were made with hearts with an insatiable hunger for life. We seek great spaces, boundlessness. Yet today, Jesus tells us that the gate that leads to this boundless life is narrow.
How do we find this narrow gate? How do we make it through? There is a guide that will direct us to our destination. He is the infinite one that became small, became human. His way is love, a love that gives and invites us to give generously. We cannot make it through the gate with a spirit of accumulation. Neither can we find the way if we have been selfishly wasteful. Our giving, our spending must be aimed towards the life of others. A flourishing heart, a heart that is fully alive, is one filled with names and faces, says Pope Francis.
Jesus, shepherd of our hearts, guide us with your love and let our hearts be guides to others toward your boundless life.
