Thursday of the Twenty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
"Your faith has saved you; go in peace," Jesus says to the woman in today’s gospel. What did this faith entail?
For this woman that everyone in town knew to be sinful, it entailed believing that Jesus would somehow heal her, free her, forgive her of her fault. It involved having the courage to enter into a house not her own where no doubt she was stared down. It meant daring to come close to Jesus and share a moment of intimacy in spite of all the hostility.
May our faith be as bold, tenacious and persevering.
