Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter
“Do not let your hearts be troubled,” Jesus says to his disciples today. If only we would listen to him! How often is our precious time and energy drained from us because our hearts are troubled by something? And how often is that something really not something worth stressing about?
Most fortunately for us, Jesus does not say these words as a ruler who lords it over us, but as a friend who cares about our lives, our peace and our well-being, so much so that he promises to prepare a place for us in his Father’s house.
Our troubled hearts find their resting place in God. The intimate friendship we share with Jesus is the way there.
