Introductory Prayer

Father, you created me and put me on earth for a purpose. Jesus, you died for me and call me to complete your work. Holy Spirit, you help me to carry out the work for which I was created and called. In your presence and name—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—I begin my reflection. May all my thoughts and inspirations have their origin in you and be directed to your glory.

Tuesday of the Seventh Week in Ordinary Time

 From today’s gospel:

They had been discussing among themselves

on the way who was the greatest.

From today’s first reading:

So submit yourselves to God.
Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you…

…Humble yourselves before the Lord
and he will exalt you.

Lord, I surrender to you.  So many times in my life, I’ve felt self-secure, in total control, master of my own destiny and of the lives of everyone within (and outside of) my circle.  Time and again, Lord, you have proven me wrong.  Help me to be simple, like a little child.

Show me, Lord, your way, your truth, and your life, that I may follow you, imitate you, and even walk alongside you, as companion and friend.
