Introductory Prayer

Father, you created me and put me on earth for a purpose. Jesus, you died for me and call me to complete your work. Holy Spirit, you help me to carry out the work for which I was created and called. In your presence and name—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—I begin my reflection. May all my thoughts and inspirations have their origin in you and be directed to your glory.

Lord, just one more day.

Just one more day and then I will follow you.

One more day and I will allow your word to take root in my heart.

The kingdom is at hand, I know, but isn’t your kingdom really in heaven? Heaven seems like a perfectly fine place to enjoy it, and I’m sure it will be much easier to live it there than here.

Just give me one more day, Lord, because today it feels like you’re imposing just a little too much. You know where I am. Could we perhaps schedule an appointment for later?
