Memorial of Saint Andrew Kim Tae-gŏn, Priest, and Paul Chŏng Ha-sang, and Companions, Martyrs

Today’s parable, commonly known as the parable of the sower, helps us to reflect upon how we receive the word of God. Of course, we aim to be like those with good and generous hearts who bear fruit through perseverance. But how often do we fall away in times of trial? How often do anxieties, riches, and pleasure get the best of us?

If the goal is to bear fruit, then let us persevere trusting in the slow work of God who will bring to completion the good work he has started in us.
