Fr. Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D.: President
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 16, 1952, Fr. Spitzer is a Catholic Priest in the Jesuit order, and is currently the President of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith (www.magisreasonfaith.org) and the Spitzer Center (www.spitzercenter.org). The Magis Center produces documentaries, books, high school curricula, college courses, adult-education curricula, and new media materials to show the close connection between faith and reason in contemporary astrophysics, philosophy, and historical study of the New Testament. The Spitzer Center produces facilitated curricula to strengthen culture, faith, and spirit in Catholic organizations as well as nonprofit and for-profit organizations.

Joseph Miller: Executive Director
Joseph Miller is the Executive Vice President of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith. Prior to devoting his energies to evangelization, Joseph spent 15 years in network technology. During this period he managed the development and marketing of leading edge communications products.
Since leaving the technology sector in 2000, he has served both as a board member and as a member of the executive leadership team of FOCUS – the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. It was during this time that Joseph met Catholic philosopher and author Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D. The two soon recognized each other as kindred spirits, with mutual interests in science, philosophy and theology and thereafter agreed to work together in the area of intellectual evangelization.
In addition to his research for the Magis Center and mentoring from Fr. Spitzer, Joseph has further established his subject matter expertise by earning an M.A. in Theological Studies from the Notre Dame Graduate School in Alexandria, VA. He is currently completing an M.A. in Philosophy from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. His primary areas of interest include, evidence of supernatural causation and transcendence in consciousness and astrophysics, and theological anthropology.
Joseph is an experienced presenter. It was during his tenure in the technology sector that he learned to make complex subject matter accessible and meaningful.
Michael K. Noggle: Director of Operations
Former President and CEO of SPM (later known as, Bace Manufacturing Group), Mike has extensive manufacturing and business background. Education includes business classes through California State University at Fullerton with a certificate in Excellence in Manufacturing and two certificates through the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mike has authored two books for the plastic industry and holds multiple patents. He consults for a variety of manufacturing industries with emphasis on plastics.
Mike is a certified catechist in the Diocese of Orange and has been teaching for over 30 years. His experience in teaching includes: Confirmation, RCIA, Pre-Cana, High School Scripture Studies and Adult Scripture Studies. Then, he met Fr. Spitzer! Mike is now dedicated full time to manufacturing of Magis products, Sales, Fulfillment, Web Site Development, Customer Service and oiling squeaky wheels. He sees these new educational products from Magis as the most innovative and important tools for Catholic Education since the Baltimore Catechism. Joan M. Jacoby: Executive Director – Administration
Joan M. Jacoby was the former owner and President of Jacoby Commercial Real Estate Services Company. After twenty years of executive leadership in her company she decided to dedicate herself to the mission of education in the area of reason and faith. After joining the Magis Institute Board of Directors, and meeting Fr. Spitzer in 2009, she decided to sell her part of the partnership in her company, and become the Administrative Officer for the Magis Institute.
Since that time, she has been actively involved in the creation of all sixteen products in the Magis Institute’s six product lines, has been at the center of the operational administration of the Institute, and has assisted Fr. Spitzer in virtually every phase of the Institute’s development. She is the Institute’s key contact person.
She earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BA from Kent State University and is a California licensed broker.
Karlo Broussard: Associate Director of Magis Speakers Bureau
Karlo Broussard, M.A. (Theology)
Karlo Broussard is Director of the Magis Speakers Bureau and is widely available to do presentations in parishes, high schools, and conferences throughout the United States and Western Canada. He is a very accomplished and engaging speaker. He has given hundreds of presentations throughout the United States in the area of intellectual evangelization. He is also a master facilitator of the Magis programs and can help teachers and catechists to integrate intellectual evangelization into their programs and curricula (by doing one day workshops). He received his bachelor’s degree in theology from Catholic Distance University and his Masters in Pastoral Theology from the Augustine Institute with a concentration in catechesis and evangelization.
Susan Medart: Director, Customer Relations
Susan has owned several businesses and was a licensed real estate agent. She is a former Executive Administrative Assistant with a wealth of customer service experience. Her most recent position, in a large design center, put her in close contact with customers on a daily basis. For Magis, she wears several hats including sending out the monthly Magis Center e-Blast, providing prompt solutions to customer service issues, and sorting emails to insure they are answered by the appropriate party. Susan is mission oriented and will not be deterred from achieving her goal of pleasing the customer.
